On February 12th, around 19:30, a police officer named E.A. was attacked by a pitbull dog while returning home in the Vatan neighborhood of the Bayrampaşa district in Istanbul. The police warned 17-year-old A.K., who was walking the dog, not to walk it "without a muzzle and leash."
PULLED A KNIFE ON THE POLICE AND CURSED
After the warning, the individual provoked the dog further and directed it towards the police. When E.A. identified himself as a police officer, the child cursed and pulled out a knife. The dog's owner, Mehmet Emin Gültekin, also arrived at the scene, cursing at the police and began to attack.
THE DOG OWNER TURNED OUT TO BE A CRIME MACHINE

Two suspects who also cursed and attacked the police teams were taken into custody. Legal action was initiated against the individuals for "intentional injury, threats, insults, and resisting a public officer." It was revealed that Mehmet Emin Gültekin had 42 criminal records. The pitbull belonging to Mehmet Emin Gültekin was seized and will not be returned, and a fine of 152,346 TL was imposed for keeping a dangerous breed of dog.
HE WAS ARRESTED
After the completion of the procedures at the police station, the two suspects taken into custody were referred to the judicial authorities. Mehmet Emin Gültekin was arrested and sent to prison by the judicial authorities, while A.K., who was found to have 8 criminal records, was released under judicial control. Meanwhile, moments when the two individuals cursed and attacked the police teams were captured on a mobile phone camera.
