Neighbors reported the sounds to the police and medical teams, and after their investigations in the area, the teams reviewed the cameras and apprehended the fleeing Sevil Akdağ in Esenyurt. Following her procedures at the police station, Sevil Akdağ was transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, where she was arrested by the Duty Magistrate and sent to prison.

She spoke loudly, she was using a drug called Lyrica, and the argument escalated. She attacked me with a knife in her hand, I tried to take it from her, but she hit me. She assaulted me, pulled my hair, slapped me, and bit my fingers. I tried to escape, I tried to protect myself. I don't remember if I stabbed her. I don't remember those moments due to the influence of alcohol."
