The president of Yeni Malatyaspor, Şahin Altunok, has resigned.

Another resignation has been added to the recent club president resignations in Turkish football. Şahin Altunok, the president of Trendyol 1. Lig team Yeni Malatyaspor, which is going through tough times financially and has applied to withdraw from the league to the TFF, announced that he has resigned from his position.

RESIGNATION STATEMENT

Şahin Altunok's resignation statement is as follows;

"I have decided to resign from the presidency of Yeni Malatyaspor Club, where I came to office with great dreams and hopes. We have made efforts to take ownership of our team, which has been left without support, and to overcome the difficult days together. However, we could not find support in this effort. We could not find a single person to take ownership of our club, which has been left without support. As you know, it is not possible for such a large debt to be covered solely by myself and my administration. Additionally, our attempts to withdraw from the league, which we made to gain time and take some steps, have also been rejected without support. We have decided to leave the position in order not to make the mistakes of past administrations and not to occupy this seat in vain if we cannot do anything. Our support for our club will continue, regardless of what it may be, as it has in the past and today. Our only wish is for our team to overcome these difficult processes and return to its glorious days that it deserves."

HE HAD APPLIED TO TFF TO WITHDRAW THE TEAM FROM THE LEAGUE

Yeni Malatyaspor, which has been going through tough times both financially and sportively in Trendyol 1. Lig, had recently formalized its request to withdraw from the league, which it had previously mentioned. In a statement from the club, it was stated, "Our request to withdraw from the league, with the condition that our rights are reserved, has been submitted to the TFF by the joint decision of the 1st League Football Clubs Association. We thank all the presidents who supported our rightful request, especially the President of the Clubs Association, Mr. Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu," it was expressed.

THEY LOST ALL MATCHES, THEY ARE LAST

After the earthquake on February 6, Yeni Malatyaspor, which could not recover, has not won any of the matches it played this season in Trendyol 1. Lig. The Malatya team, which lost all 18 matches, is at the bottom of the league with -21 points after receiving a 21-point deduction penalty from FIFA.

On the other hand, the resignations of presidents in Turkish football this season have drawn attention.
