The date for the primary election to determine the presidential candidate of the Republican People's Party (CHP), which ABB President Mansur Yavaş said he is "not involved" in, has been clarified. CHP members will go to the polls on Sunday, March 23, to determine the party's presidential candidate.
The CHP Party Council decided that the party's presidential candidate would be determined by a primary election, while also granting authority to the Central Executive Board (MYK) regarding the schedule and method.
YAVAŞ WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE PRIMARY
The Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, who opposed the unification of the candidate selection method as "primary election" and the early determination of the candidate, will not participate in the primary.

TRIPLE SUMMIT IN ANKARA
Özel, İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, and ABB President Mansur Yavaş met yesterday to evaluate the agenda of the 'presidential candidate'. Özel shared a photo from the approximately 3-hour meeting on his social media account, noting, "We are together. We will always be together. We will win together. Turkey will win."
According to the information obtained, it was a matter of curiosity whether Yavaş would participate in the primary or not. He personally conveyed his decision to Özel and İmamoğlu during the meeting. He stated that "he is not against the primary but will not participate in this primary."
Reiterating his previous statements, Yavaş emphasized that the primary should not be the sole criterion and that alternative options should also be on the table. Yavaş said, "They are all our party members, our members, and we certainly respect their decision, but I do not think this is the agenda."
