The General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses denied the claims that "Detained student Esila Ayık, who is a chronic heart and kidney patient, lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital." It was stated that Ayık has not experienced any health problems as alleged, that her health condition is good, and that she is still in the correctional facility.
The General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses (CTE) announced that the claim, "The detained student, chronic heart and kidney patient Esila Ayık, was taken to the hospital after losing consciousness," is unfounded.
In a statement from CTE, it was noted that there were social media posts titled "The detained student, chronic heart and kidney patient Esila Ayık, was taken to the hospital after losing consciousness" regarding Esila Ayık, who is held at the Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison.
"HER HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD"
It was stated that the detained Ayık has not experienced any health problems as claimed, that her health condition is good, and that she is still in the detention facility. It was further noted:
"Such unfounded news is assessed as an effort to create a perception aimed at misleading and misinforming the public, and a necessary statement has been made to ensure the public is accurately informed. Additionally, it is respectfully announced to the public that legal action will be taken against those who publicly disseminate misleading information under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code."
