The mystery of the male body found naked in a plastic drum in the Bozyazı district of Mersin has been solved. It has been determined that the body, which was found with its feet tied inside the drum, belongs to a retired teacher, and the son of the deceased has been taken into custody. According to the information obtained, municipal workers who went to the garbage dump in the Ustalar neighborhood of Bozyazı yesterday evening to dump garbage found a naked male body inside a plastic barrel. The gendarmerie, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area after the municipal staff reported the incident. THE BODY BELONGS TO A PROFESSORAfter the unidentified male body was examined by the prosecutor at the scene, it was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy, while the police initiated an investigation into the incident. The Mersin police, who made intense efforts to determine the identity of the body found tied and naked inside the drum in the garbage, determined that the deceased person was Prof. Dr. Selahattin Doludeniz, a retired faculty member from Selçuk University in Konya, who lived in İskele neighborhood of Anamur district with his son O. Doludeniz. SON TAKEN INTO CUSTODYAfter the identity of the deceased person was determined, the police took O. Doludeniz into custody due to conflicting statements. In his initial statement to the police, the suspect stated that he had been having problems with his father for a while, so he left home for a short period of time, and when he returned, he found his father dead at home, so he put the body in a drum and left it at the garbage dump in Bozyazı using a taxi, according to the information obtained. AWAITING FORENSIC MEDICINE EXAMINATIONMeanwhile, in the initial examination of the body, no traces of a piercing or cutting tool were found, and it was stated that the cause of death will be determined after the forensic medicine examination.
