The district of Yayladere is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Turkey's Beauty doctor, İdil Bilgen.

Koç University School of Medicine graduate and Miss Turkey 2024 Beauty Contest winner İdil Bilgen, was assigned to the Yayladere Community Health Center in Bingöl's Yayladere district, which has a population of 2,304, in the 118th term of the Ministry of Health's State Service Obligation (DHY) lottery. The district, which is the third smallest in terms of population and has an altitude of 1550 meters, is home to the local people who make a living from beekeeping, agriculture, and animal husbandry. Bilgen, who was assigned on September 9th and is expected to start work within 15 days, was invited to the district by the local people.

Zülfü Değer, a shopkeeper, expressed their excitement for İdil Bilgen's arrival and said, "Our district is truly a wonderful place with its nature, air, and people. We sincerely want our doctor to come here. Our people have a serious need and we feel significant deficiencies in terms of health. We either have to travel 108 kilometers to Bingöl or 150-200 kilometers to Elazığ. It may be much better for us if the doctor comes here. It will greatly benefit the people here. At least she will get to know our people, our land, and our nature and see the beauty of this region."

"WHEN THE DOCTOR LADY COMES HERE, SHE WILL BE OUR DAUGHTER, OUR CHILD"

Değer, who stated that the doctors who previously worked in the region left happily, said, "Our district has a beautiful nature and a wonderful climate. However, we have significant deficiencies in terms of health and we expect steps to be taken to address these deficiencies. We would be very happy if they help us. When the doctor lady comes here, she will be our daughter, our child. We will provide the necessary support and help her in every aspect. We have a restaurant here, we run it with our friends. We also have a coffee shop in the future. There shouldn't be too many expectations in terms of social aspects because our population is small and the income level is low. Let's accept these realities. However, we still definitely want to see the doctor lady here, we eagerly await her arrival," he said.

"WE WANT HER TO CONSIDER HERSELF AS A DOCTOR AND COME HERE"

Mehmet Emin Erdem, a shopkeeper in the district, drew attention to the deficiencies in healthcare services and said, "I had a long adventure in Istanbul and then returned to my homeland. I am currently running a cafe with my friends. We love Yayladere. Yayladere is bordered by Tunceli to the north and Erzincan to the west. Yayladere is a historic district that hosted the Urartians and Byzantines. It was a district with a high school and primary school in the 1950s. However, we are a bit behind in terms of healthcare. We have a hospital and a health center, but they are insufficient. Many people with diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease have to go to Bingöl, Elazığ, or Karakoçan. The health center closes after 5 pm. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Diseases do not have a specific day and time. We have an ambulance, and our working colleagues work tirelessly. We thank them. However, we demand further improvement in the health conditions here. As someone who lives here, we sincerely want Doctor Bilgen to come. Healthcare workers perform a sacred profession. We would be happy to see them among us. We also expect to offer her a cup of coffee," he said.

Mehmet Altuntoprak, a retired resident of the district, commented on the assignment of İdil Bilgen, who was chosen as 'Turkey's Beauty', to their district, saying, "I have been living in Yayladere for 8 years. The doctor lady who was chosen as Turkey's beauty has been assigned to our district, which is beautiful. The air, water, geography, and places to visit in our district are amazing. We await her arrival. Of course, being Turkey's beauty is not very important to us. We want her to serve us as a doctor and be productive. We welcome her to come."
