After three days of continuous rain in Bali, Indonesia, pythons measuring up to 5 meters in length have started to be seen in the streets that have turned into lakes.
The sudden flood disaster triggered by tropical rains on Indonesia's tourist island of Bali not only collapsed infrastructure and transportation but also revealed extraordinary images. In residential areas like Kuta, Legian, and Denpasar, locals and tourists captured footage of massive snakes floating in the streets.
PEOPLE IN FEAR
In videos circulating on social media, large snakes crawling in areas where floodwaters have turned the streets into lakes drew attention. Some recordings showed the snakes gliding on the water's surface like insects, while the people in the footage reacted with astonishment to the presence of the animals. In one video, a local woman was seen trying to pull a snake out of the water and struggling with it.
TOURISTS EXPERIENCED DIFFICULT MOMENTS
Due to the puddles caused by the flood, many streets and avenues became impassable, especially for those living in Kuta and Legian, as well as tourists who experienced difficult moments. Some locals and tourists were filmed walking through the waters or trying to escape the area by boat. Emergency teams warned the public about rising water levels and urged them to stay in safe areas.
Sudden flood events, which are frequently seen in Indonesia due to monsoon rains, have been particularly severe this year. As is known, the heavy rains experienced in September last year led to widespread flooding, causing significant damage to infrastructure and living spaces.
