It has been learned that the reason for the lack of a comprehensive statement regarding the second meeting of the HDP delegation with the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan is the fire disaster in Bolu.
DEM Party's Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and Van Deputy Pervin Buldan were part of the DEM Party delegation that met with the terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan for the second time on Wednesday, January 22. After the approximately four-hour meeting, a written statement was made on behalf of the delegation today, but this statement was a brief informational announcement.
The statement did not contain comprehensive information about the content of the four-hour meeting. It was noted that Öcalan continues his work regarding the process and that a public announcement would be made after the preparations are completed. Additionally, it was stated that Öcalan expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the fire in Bolu and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
THE REASON FOR NOT MAKING A COMPREHENSIVE STATEMENT HAS BECOME CLEAR
According to information obtained from DEM Party officials, it was recorded that a decision was made not to make a comprehensive statement following the meeting between Öcalan and the Imralı delegation due to the fire tragedy at the Bolu Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Resort.
CO-CHAIRS WILL RECEIVE INFORMATION
Party sources stated that a more comprehensive statement is expected to be made after DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, whose father recently passed away, returns to Ankara with Tülay Hatimoğulları and receives information from the Imralı delegation.
DEM PARTY MYK WILL MEET
Subsequently, based on the information conveyed by the Co-Chairs, the Central Executive Board (MYK) will convene, and the roadmap to be determined by the DEM Party will also become clear in line with the decisions made by the MYK. Accordingly, it will be revealed what kind of decisions will be made regarding both the messages given by Öcalan in the second meeting and whether the delegation will continue political party meetings as they did after the first meeting.
The DEM Party MYK is expected to meet on January 27-28. Furthermore, whether a written or verbal statement will be made regarding the meeting will be announced in accordance with the decision of the Imralı delegation after discussions in the party's internal committees.
