POLICE OFFICER FACES 13 SEPARATE CHARGES
A 24-year-old police officer in Singapore has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and 11 counts of voyeurism. The court did not allow the accused's name to be disclosed to protect the identities of the victims.
According to the prosecution, the suspect committed the crimes between 2023 and 2025 at a neighborhood police center, Home Team facilities, and other locations.
ALLEGEDLY SECRETLY FILMED COLLEAGUES AS WELL
The indictment stated that six of the victims were targeted at the police center and Home Team facilities. The suspect allegedly secretly recorded some victims while they were in their underwear, and others while they were showering naked or using the toilet, using a mobile phone. The case also includes charges of sexual assault against two victims.
POLICE STATEMENT
In a statement on the incident, the Singapore Police Force said that police officers must adhere to the highest disciplinary and ethical standards, and that they take uncompromising action against personnel who violate the law. Authorities stated they would not provide further comments as the judicial process is ongoing.
FACING SEVERE PENALTIES
It was announced that the suspect's case will be heard again on August 6. If found guilty, he could face up to two years in prison for each voyeurism charge, and up to three years in prison for each sexual assault charge, in addition to fines and caning.
