NOTICED WHILE STRUGGLING IN THE SEA
The incident occurred near the old pier in the Küçük Bakraç area of Tatlısu Neighborhood, Erdek district.
Muhammed Can Özyıldırım, an 8th-grade student at Bandırma Şehit Bedir Karabıyık Middle School, entered the sea with his friends to cool off. After a while, those around noticed him struggling in the water and brought Özyıldırım to the shore.
DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
Upon notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. After the initial intervention by health teams at the scene, Muhammed Can Özyıldırım was taken to Bandırma Training and Research Hospital. The 14-year-old student, who was treated, lost his life despite all the efforts of the doctors.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
An investigation was initiated into the incident, while the death of Muhammed Can Özyıldırım plunged his family and relatives into mourning.
