Following the party changes and resignations in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the seat distribution has been reshaped. With the addition of two deputies to the AK Party, the party's seat count rose to 277, while the CHP's seat count fell to 136 following the departure of two deputies. The total number of deputies in the parliament remained at 592.
The distribution of parliamentary seats has been reshaped following the party changes and resignations in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) this month. The AK Party's seat count rose to 277, while the CHP's seat count fell to 136.
AK PARTY'S SEAT COUNT REACHED 277
With the joining of Ersin Beyaz, the Istanbul deputy who resigned from the İYİ Party, and Nimet Özdemir, the Istanbul deputy who resigned from the CHP, the AK Party's number of deputies in the TBMM became 277.
CHP'S SEAT COUNT DECLINED
Following the resignations of Nimet Özdemir and Sakarya deputy Ümit Dikbayır from the CHP, the CHP's seat count in the Parliament fell to 136. Along with these developments, the number of independent deputies rose to 10.
NUMBER OF DEPUTIES FELL TO 592
The total number of deputies in the TBMM had decreased from 600 to 592 due to the deaths of Saadet Party Kocaeli deputy Hasan Bitmez and DEM Party Istanbul deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder, the loss of parliamentary seat of Türkiye İşçi Party Hatay deputy Can Atalay, the appointment of AK Party Istanbul deputy Murat Kurum as a minister, and the resignation from parliamentary seats of CHP deputies Burcu Köksal, Abdurrahman Tutdere, Hasan Baltacı, and Ahmet Önal after being elected as mayors.
