Recently, after Mehmet Gündoğan was admitted to a private clinic in Afyonkarahisar with a complaint of sore throat and received a yellow serum, another death report came from Adana. 22-year-old Selinay Yüksekbaş fell ill and lost her life after receiving an atom serum administered by a pharmacy apprentice.
Known colloquially as 'atom' or 'yellow serum', serums containing vitamin supplements have recently been in the news due to fatal cases. Recently, 38-year-old Mehmet Gündoğan, who fell ill while preparing for Umrah in Afyonkarahisar, was connected to a 'yellow serum' at a private clinic where he sought help for a throat infection. Gündoğan, who deteriorated, passed away at the hospital he was transferred to. Following this incident, another tragedy involving yellow serum occurred.
PHARMACIST'S ASSISTANT WAS CALLED
On January 17 in Adana, Selinay Yüksekbaş, a married mother of two who was suffering from a flu infection in the Yüreğir district, called the pharmacist's assistant M.M. in her neighborhood to request a serum.
FELL ILL AFTER THE SERUM WAS ADMINISTERED
According to allegations, M.M. prepared the atom serum, known as 'yellow serum' among the public and on the internet, by mixing 10 different medications. M.M. went to Yüksekbaş's home and administered the serum. After a while, Yüksekbaş fell ill, and her family reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS, SHE COULD NOT BE SAVED
After the health team dispatched to the address intervened, Yüksekbaş was taken to the hospital, but despite all interventions, she could not be saved. M.M., who was detained by the police following the incident, was released after giving a statement. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
