A special operations police officer committed suicide with his service pistol in front of the AK Party Headquarters in Ankara. It was learned that the police officer was set to get engaged in 15 days, while the General Directorate of Security announced that two inspectors had been assigned to investigate the incident.
The special operations police officer E.A., responsible for maintaining security at the intersection outside the AK Party Headquarters in Ankara, committed suicide with his service pistol around 3:00 PM. While the reason for the suicide is not yet known, party sources speaking to Euronews Turkish stated that the police officer was set to get engaged in 15 days.
EGM: 2 INSPECTORS ASSIGNED
The General Directorate of Security, which made a written statement regarding the incident, said, "Our police officer E.A., who is assigned to the Ankara Special Operations Branch, committed suicide with his service pistol today around 3:00 PM. In relation to this tragic incident, 2 inspectors have been assigned by our General Directorate of Security. We wish God's mercy upon our police officer, and our condolences to his grieving family and the Security Organization."
