The Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik stated, "There is no bargaining regarding the qualities of the Republic of Turkey and the values of our nation. There is no give-and-take process. There are no negotiations. The goal is to achieve a Turkey free of terrorism."

AK Party Spokesperson Çelik attended the AK Party Yalova Provincial Presidency Vefa Iftar. Speaking after the iftar held at the Altan Cultural Center, Çelik stated that looking at the developments in Turkey and its surroundings, it has once again been seen how valuable the AK Party and the People's Alliance are for the country and the region.

Çelik also spoke about the process of a terrorism-free Turkey, which began after the moves of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and gained momentum with the call for the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms.

"WE ARE MOVING TOWARDS THE GOAL OF A TERRORISM-FREE TURKEY WITH GREAT DETERMINATION"

"Now we say a terrorism-free Turkey. To save Turkey from the scourge of terrorism, the historic call made by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli and the strong will demonstrated by our President are opening up brand new windows for Turkey to be freed from the 50-year scourge of terrorism," said Çelik. "This will create a great opportunity for the removal of the terrorist tutelage over our Kurdish brothers, and for everything to be resolved within the possibilities of democracy and politics. During the darkest periods of tutelage, our President sent the strongest message against the tutelage centers by going to Diyarbakır in 2006 and saying, 'All of Turkey's issues, the headscarf issue is my issue. The Kurdish issue is my issue.'

Since that day, thanks to the unshakeable unity, strength, and power of our organizations, we have defeated all the malicious networks in front of us. Now we are in the Century of Turkey, and in the Century of Turkey, we continue on our path with great determination to achieve the goal of a terrorism-free Turkey," he stated.

RESPONSE TO BARGAINING ALLEGATIONS

Çelik also addressed the allegations of bargaining in the moves made for the terrorism-free Turkey process. Çelik said, "From time to time, some statements are made regarding this. I have expressed this before. There is no bargaining regarding the qualities of the Republic of Turkey and the values of our nation. There is no give-and-take process. There is no negotiation. The goal is to reach the target of a terrorism-free Turkey. For this, we will continue on our path resolutely and keep opening up our way."
