The judicial statement of Serdar Haydanlı, pointed out by CHP leader Özgür Özel, who was arrested as part of the investigations launched against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), has emerged. Haydanlı stated, "In 2018 and 2019, we received contracts for events and organization from İBB Kültür A.Ş. Apart from this, we had no commercial ties with İBB. I do not accept the charges against me."
Serdar Haydanlı, who was detained in the terrorism and corruption investigations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), was brought before the Istanbul 11th Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest after the prosecutor's interrogation. The Criminal Judge of Peace decided to arrest Haydanlı on the grounds that there were "concrete facts and evidence indicating the possibility of fleeing and tampering with evidence." Haydanlı's statement to the criminal judge has emerged.
"I DO NOT ACCEPT THE CHARGES AGAINST ME"
Serdar Haydanlı, whom CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated "called the President's security director Ali Erdoğan at the moment of his detention, was released as a result, and was detained again after making these statements," said the following in his statement:
"I have not done any business with the companies mentioned for five years, I do not know any of them. Therefore, I request my release. We received an event and organization tender from IMM Culture Inc. in 2018 and 2019. Other than that, we had no commercial ties with IMM. I do not accept the charges against me."
"REASONING THAT JUDICIAL CONTROL WILL BE INSUFFICIENT"
The Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided to arrest 7 individuals on the grounds that "the current evidence situation, the MASAK report, witness statements, HTS examination report, tax examination expert report, and the information and documents in the file indicate the existence of strong suspicion of committing the crime, the existence of concrete facts indicating the possibility of fleeing, the potential for evidence to be tampered with under pressure, and the fact that evidence has not been fully collected, judicial control will be insufficient at this stage."
ÖZGÜR ÖZEL CLAIMED HE WAS RELEASED
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel claimed at a press conference held at the IMM building in Saraçhane that the only person released from the branch in the investigation in which Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained was Serdar Haydanlı, who was said to be "issuing fake invoices."
Speaking at the IMM building in Saraçhane, Özel said the following in response to a question about Haydanlı: "He was on the detention list. Look, this is the detention list of the police. It is written 'obtained' next to those who were detained, and 'fugitive' next to those who did not come. They wrote 'released from the branch' for one person, and that is Serdar Haydanlı. Since it was asked, let’s say it. Everyone knows that Serdar Haydanlı was released that day. As the party's chairman, I told my lawyer friends, 'go find him, ask if he has a note for his health and morale, or for his family.' We found all of them, but we could not find Mr. Serdar. We could not find him in the detention center. Lawyers have the right to meet, but we could not find him."
