A suspect named C.B., who took down the Turkish flag from the exterior of a workplace in Kağıthane and threw it to the ground, was taken into custody by police teams and referred to the courthouse. In his statement, the suspect claimed that he has a nervous condition and occasionally loses control.
The incident occurred around 06:30 yesterday in the Yeşilce neighborhood. According to the information obtained, a person walking on the road removed the Turkish flag hanging on the exterior of a workplace and threw it to the ground. The events were captured on security camera. After the incident, upon the complaint of the workplace owner, police teams launched an investigation.
CAUGHT THE SAME DAY, HAS 11 CRIME RECORDS
In the work carried out by the Kağıthane Security Bureau police, the identity of the suspect was determined. Cafer B., who was caught and taken into custody on the street, was found to have a total of 11 crime records for offenses including 'providing a place and opportunity for gambling,' 'theft,' 'threat,' 'intentional injury,' and 'violation of the Law on Protection of the Family and Prevention of Violence against Women' during his interrogation.
"I LOSE MYSELF FROM TIME TO TIME"
It was learned that Cafer B., who was taken to the police station, said in his statement, "Due to my nerve disease, I lose myself from time to time." However, in the investigations conducted by police teams, no health report confirming this claim of the suspect was found.
ENTERED AND LEFT PRISON TWICE
In the research conducted, it was determined that Cafer B. had previously entered and left prison twice, divorced his wife in 2016, and has one son and one daughter. His daughter Rabia Gül B., whom police teams spoke with, said that her father had previously been hospitalized at Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital, but they were not given any health report, and that none of the family members communicate with her father.
After his procedures at the police station were completed, Cafer B. was referred to the courthouse on charges of 'Degrading the Sovereignty Emblems of the State.'
