ALLEGED IRON TORTURE OF YOUNG CHILD
The incident occurred in Ayvanat Neighborhood. According to the allegation, the child named H.Z. was beaten by her mother at home for a reason not yet determined. H.Z., who was alleged to have suffered severe burns on various parts of her body from a hot iron, was taken to Siverek State Hospital after the first intervention by teams dispatched to the address following a report. It was reported that H.Z., who was transferred by ambulance to the burn unit of Şanlıurfa Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital after examinations, continued treatment there due to severe burns on her body.
3 PEOPLE ARRESTED
Within the scope of the investigation into the incident, H.Z.'s unnamed mother, maternal grandmother and maternal aunt were detained. The child's stepmother Bahar Zengin and
Zengin's mother Seher Zengin and Zengin's sister Sara Akkılıç were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. The suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before on charges of 'torture against a child and qualified injury'.
Meanwhile, H.Z., who was learned to have burns on her body and a fracture in her arm, was transferred to the burn unit of Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
