In the indictment prepared as part of the investigation into 'bribery' and 'corruption' against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, one of the suspects, Halil Tolga Ayvazoğlu, stated in his testimony that Muhittin Böcek wanted to gift an apartment to Ali Mahir Başarır and requested an apartment from him.

In the 702-page indictment completed as part of the investigation into 'bribery' and 'corruption' against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the additional statement of suspect Halil Tolga Ayvazoğlu, who is accused of 'laundering assets derived from crime', dated December 10, 2025, was also included.

"HE WANTED TO GIFT AN APARTMENT TO BAŞARIR FOR SUPPORTING HIS CANDIDACY"

In his statement, Ayvazoğlu said that Muhittin Böcek told him that he had met with Ali Mahir Başarır during the mayoral candidacy process, supported him for the candidacy, and therefore wanted to gift an apartment to Başarır, requesting an apartment.

"HE SAID HE GAVE CASH DIRECTLY TO BAŞARIR"

In his statement, Ayvazoğlu said, "He requested an apartment from me, saying he wanted to gift an apartment to Ali Mahir Başarır. He said, 'I will pay you for the apartment.' Although he asked me to find an apartment, I did not find one. There was no sale of an apartment between us. Besides this, Muhittin Böcek told me that he gave 10 million lira in cash directly to Ali Mahir Başarır after he was nominated as a candidate for the Metropolitan Municipality in the 2024 local elections because he supported him in the candidacy. I do not know the source of this money. Since I did not make this apartment sale, he told me that he bought an apartment from another person and gave it to Ali Mahir Başarır. He did not say from whom he bought this apartment or in whose name it was registered. However, I know that he obtained it based on what he said." The indictment noted that during the inquiry based on Ayvazoğlu's statement, it was understood that there was no active/passive title deed registration in Antalya under the name of Ali Mahir Başarır.
