Security camera footage has emerged of the fight in which 27-year-old Yaşar Can Güler lost his life in the Karabağlar district of İzmir. In the footage, Güler is seen being beaten and held by the neck for a long time, while the suspect F.K., who fled after the incident, was apprehended by police teams and arrested.
Security camera footage has emerged of the incident in which a 27-year-old man lost his life in İzmir's Karabağlar district. The moments when the young man was strangled for minutes by the murder suspect he was fighting with and died after collapsing at the scene were captured second by second.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 15 on 5759 Street in the Karabağlar district. According to the information obtained, upon a report of a fight coming from the area, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. The teams arriving at the scene found Yaşar Can Güler (27) lying on the ground, seriously injured in the head and various parts of his body. Güler, who received first aid at the scene, was taken by ambulance to İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. The unfortunate man could not be saved despite all the doctors' efforts and died. F.K. (26), who was determined to have been involved in the incident and left the area in a vehicle with license plate 35 CZA 882, was caught by the police on Yeşillik Street.
THE MURDER MOMENT WAS CAPTURED ON CAMERA
Following the incident, police teams launched a comprehensive investigation and examined the security cameras in the area. The chilling details of the murder emerged in the reviewed recordings. In the footage, it was determined that Yaşar Can Güler and the murder suspect F.K. (26) arrived at the scene in the same vehicle. The verbal argument that started between the two after they got out of the vehicle quickly escalated into a fistfight. Moments were seen when F.K. hit Yaşar Can Güler with an object resembling a stick that he picked up and placed on the ground while getting out of his car. Then, during the struggle, F.K. grabbed the neck of Güler, who had fallen to the ground, and strangled the unfortunate man for minutes. In those moments when Güler was seen gasping for air and then becoming motionless, a citizen was captured on camera stepping in to try to break up the fight.
HE DEALT WITH HIS PHONE AFTER THE MURDER
After the citizen intervened, the suspect F.K. released Güler and was seen waiting by the head of Güler, who was lying lifeless on the ground, checking on him, and then making calls on his phone.
The murder suspect, who was caught and taken into custody by the police, was arrested by the duty criminal judgeship of peace and sent to prison after his statements at the police station were completed.
