The stadium was prepared ahead of Çorum FK's first home match in the Süper Lig. The Çorum City Stadium, with a capacity of 15,000, has been made ready to host Çorum FK's Süper Lig matches.
Preparations have been completed at Çorum City Stadium, which will host the home matches of Arca Çorum FK this season in the Trendyol Süper Lig.
WILL HOST THE SUPER LEAGUE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Çorum City Stadium, whose construction began in 2016 by Çorum Municipality and was transferred to the Ministry of Youth and Sports after completion, was opened on September 20, 2020. The stadium, where Arca Çorum FK played its home matches in the 2nd League White Group and the 1st League for 6 seasons, will host Trendyol Süper Lig matches for the first time this season.
PREPARATIONS COMPLETED
Çorum FK, which started the season with the match against Galatasaray played at Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park and ending in a 2-2 draw, will play its first home match in the Süper Lig today against Kasımpaşa. Preparations at the stadium have been completed before the first home match in the Süper Lig. Hybrid grass was laid on the stadium after its floor was removed and the under-soil heating system was renewed. The lighting and sound systems of the 15,000-capacity stadium, as well as the screens of the scoreboard, were replaced with new ones. Heated seats were placed in the dugouts against possible adverse weather conditions throughout the season.
FIRST HOME MATCH WITHOUT SPECTATORS
Arca Çorum FK will play its first home match in the Süper Lig without its fans due to the ban on playing without spectators it received because of ugly and bad chanting and field incidents caused by its fans in the Trendyol 1st League play-off second round match against Bodrum FK on May 15. Due to the penalty, a giant banner reading "We Are Anatolia," the slogan of Çorum FK, was hung in the marathon stands, which will remain empty.
Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Mustafa Demirkıran told the AA correspondent that Çorum City Stadium is ready for the Çorum FK-Kasımpaşa match.
Congratulating Çorum FK for its promotion to the Süper Lig, Demirkıran stated that he believes the red-black team will represent Çorum in the best way.
Drawing attention to the fact that the excitement of the Süper Lig is being experienced in the city, Demirkıran stated that some changes also needed to be made at the stadium and said, "There are some deficiencies determined by the Turkish Football Federation, and we have completed these deficiencies. With the support of our President for sports, the instructions of our Minister, the follow-up of our deputies, and the instructions given by our Governor by personally coming to the stadium, we have prepared our stadium in the best way for the new season. I thank our President, our Minister, and our club president. We want to see the unifying power of sports on the field. Hopefully, our team will become champions and also participate in European leagues. We think big. I sincerely believe that our team will represent us in the best way. I wish them success."
Drawing attention to the fact that the first home match in the Süper Lig will be played without spectators, Demirkıran noted:
"This match will be without spectators, but in the following matches, with a sense of fair play, with people coming together and following the rules, we will take our place in the stands and support our team in the best way. We will watch beautiful competitions in peace. Our youth are aware of the unifying power of sports. I think we will reflect this on the field in the best way."
