48-year-old Deniz Kaplan, who lost his life in an armed attack in a park in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin, has been laid to rest. It has emerged that one of the two suspects detained in connection with the murder, B.Ö., shared a photo of himself taken with a pistol in the park where the incident occurred just hours before the attack. While the image in question has been included in the investigation file, the inquiry into the incident continues.

ARMED ATTACK IN THE PARK

The incident occurred in TOKİ Park in Yenikent neighborhood. Deniz Kaplan, who was in the park, was attacked by an identified person or persons with firearms. Bystanders notified health and police teams after Kaplan was seriously wounded by bullets.

Kaplan was taken to Kızıltepe State Hospital by health teams who arrived at the scene, but could not be saved despite all medical intervention.

Kaplan's body was handed over to his family after an autopsy at the hospital. The body, taken by relatives, was laid to rest in the district cemetery.

SHARED ARMED PHOTO HOURS BEFORE ATTACK

After the murder, police launched an extensive investigation and detained 2 suspects considered connected to the incident. It was determined that one of the suspects, B.Ö., shared a photo taken with a handgun in the park where the incident occurred, just a few hours before the attack, on his social media account. It was learned that the photo was included in the investigation file. The police investigation into the incident continues.
