The statement of Emre Y, who shot and killed a young woman in Nevşehir and who died in the workplace where she sought refuge, has emerged. The suspect said, "I didn't know if the bullets hit Servet Nur. I learned that here. I surrendered because I fired the gun into the air."

Last night, Servet Nur Şahin (26), who works at a dental clinic on 215th Street in the Güzelyurt neighborhood of Nevşehir, encountered her ex-husband Emre Y., from whom she had recently divorced, on the street after finishing work. A dispute that started for an unknown reason between the couple, who have two children, quickly escalated into a fight. Emre Y. fired three shots at Şahin with the gun he was carrying. Şahin, who was injured in the abdomen, fled to her workplace, where she later died. Emre Y., who fled the scene, surrendered to the police shortly after.

"I FIRED INTO THE AIR WITH A GUN"

In his statement at the police station, Emre Y., who is in custody, said, "According to the divorce court's decision, I have the right to see my children every week, but he hasn't shown them to me for 4 months. Today, while I was driving to take measurements for curtains on the 200 Evler road for work, I coincidentally ran into my former colleague Servet Nur Şahin. I stopped the vehicle next to her. I told her that I hadn't seen my children for 4 months and that my mental health was deteriorating because of it. She told me, 'If you give me 250,000 TL, I will show you the children; otherwise, go away.' She also attacked me, saying she would have me shot. At that moment, while I was fleeing, I opened the trunk of the vehicle and fired into the air with an unlicensed gun to prevent her from attacking me. After that, I came to the police station and surrendered. I didn't know if the bullets hit Servet Nur. I learned that here. I surrendered because I fired into the air with a gun. I regret and feel sad about the incident," he said.

"THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS NOT SHOWING THE CHILDREN"

Hasan Şahin, the cousin of Servet Nur Şahin, whose autopsy procedures are ongoing at Nevşehir State Hospital, expressed their sadness over the incident, stating, "Servet Nur had separated from her husband. The one who killed her is her ex-husband. Servet Nur worked at a dental clinic and had two children. Our children have been left orphaned and fatherless. There is no such thing as Servet Nur not showing the children," he said.

BRUTALITY CAPTURED ON CAMERA

Meanwhile, the moments when Şahin, who was attacked by her ex-husband with a firearm after arguing on the street, fled to her workplace after being shot were captured on security cameras. The suspect's procedures at the police station are ongoing.
