A significant development occurred in Manbij, which was cleared of terrorist organization PKK/YPG elements as part of the Freedom Dawn Operation conducted by the Syrian National Army on Monday, December 9.
MIDNIGHT INFILTRATION ATTEMPT
Last night, an infiltration attempt by the terrorist organization PKK/YPG was thwarted at the last moment by an operation conducted by the Syrian National Army, resulting in all terrorists being neutralized.
SHARING FROM TERRORIST ACCOUNTS
It was observed that pro-terrorist social media accounts shared images related to the infiltration attempt, with posts claiming "Manbij has fallen" and "YPG has entered Manbij," but it quickly became clear that these messages did not reflect the truth.
16 TERRORISTS NEUTRALIZED
Images were released showing that the Syrian National Army maintained control in the region and successfully repelled the infiltration attempt. It was recorded that the number of YPG/PKK members neutralized last night was around 16.
THEY PLANTED BOMBS EVERYWHERE WHILE ESCAPING
On the other hand, it was revealed that after the Syrian National Army (SNA) took control of Manbij, PKK/YPG terrorists fleeing the city planted bombs in every area where civilians lived. SNA forces, which continued search and clearance operations in the city center and villages, found many bomb devices. It was discovered that the terrorists had also attempted to massacre civilians by planting bombs deep within the villages. The devices made by filling iron cages and sacks with soil, typically used at checkpoints, shocked the SNA forces. Terrorists, who set up devices in the ground to detonate remotely, had to flee the area before achieving their goals.
BOMB DEVICES CAMOUFLAGED
Mustafa Kelhüseyin, who serves in the police force of the SNA known as Shurtah, explained how the neutralized bomb devices were hidden: "This is an area where civilians live. They have planted bombs. There are hundreds like this. Fortunately, we have destroyed many of them. We thank the team of Alaaddin Binbaş, the Shurtah of Çobanbey. We are also his soldiers. We are clearing these bombs under his command," he said.
IDENTIFIED IN AREAS WHERE CIVILIANS LIVE
Kelhüseyin, showing the devices, stated, "The wires are here. These are the devices we have neutralized. The inside is loaded with bombs. There are many bombs inside. There are some everywhere. In a small area like this, there are three facing each other. These are places where civilians live, not where soldiers are."
