The TFF management is preparing for a meeting to determine which referees will officiate in critical matches. Following important matches in the Süper Lig and the Ziraat Turkey Cup, the decision regarding referee assignments is eagerly awaited.
The Turkish Football Federation will determine the referees for the critical matches to be played in the Super League and the Ziraat Turkey Cup during the meeting it will hold today. The appointments of referees are of great importance, especially before the Beşiktaş-Galatasaray derby and the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray Turkey Cup semi-final match.
WHAT DECISION WILL BE MADE?
Firstly, the derby to be played on Saturday between Beşiktaş and Galatasaray is creating great excitement, and immediately after that, the giant match that will bring Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray face to face in the Turkey Cup has become one of the hottest topics on the agenda. In addition, the decision that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) will make regarding referee appointments is also eagerly awaited.
DEMANDS ARE INCREASING
After the TFF's decision to appoint a foreign referee for the derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, similar demands have started to come from Super League clubs. First, Beşiktaş requested that the same referee officiate in their matches against Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. Then, Trabzonspor requested that foreign referees officiate in their matches against Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. Fenerbahçe, on the other hand, clearly stated its position on this issue, arguing that foreign referees should officiate in all remaining matches in the league.
CRITICAL MEETING DECISION FROM TFF
Although the Turkish Football Federation has avoided making a clear statement on the matter, it has not completely closed the door on this issue.
TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu responded to questions directed at him regarding the foreign referee application by stating that they have not yet made a definitive decision, while board member Zehra Neşe Kavak indicated that a final decision would be made after the national break.
Today, it is expected that the TFF management will come together in Riva to make the final decision on whether to continue the foreign referee application for the remainder of the season. The decision is likely to resonate significantly before the derbies and critical matches that closely concern the top of the Super League.
