On Friday, November 27, armed opposition groups that launched an operation against the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria captured Tel Rifat after Aleppo and Idlib. The Syrian National Army (SNA) has taken full control of the center of Tel Rifat while continuing to advance in the outer areas in its Operation Dawn of Freedom against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG. SNA forces, which clashed with PKK/YPG terrorists holed up in Tel Rifat, entered the town center from Deyr Cemal in the west and cleared the area of terrorism. 18 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM OUR BORDERSNA units, which also liberated the village of Hırbıl to the east of Tel Rifat, continue to advance in the outer areas of the district. SNA units, which are fortifying the center, have begun search and screening activities. Located 18 kilometers from the Turkish border, Tel Rifat had been under the occupation of YPG/PKK terrorists for 8 years. TUNNELS UNDER THE HOSPITAL SEEN FOR THE FIRST TIMEMeanwhile, the area cleared of terrorism by the Syrian National Army was seen for the first time today. In a video released by CNN Türk's Special News Chief Fulya Öztürk, terrorist tunnels located under a hospital, one end of which is claimed to extend to Afrin, were featured. OPERATION DAWN OF FREEDOMFollowing the operation launched by regime-opposed armed groups towards Aleppo on November 27, Syrian regime forces collaborated with the terrorist organization PKK/YPG and handed over some areas to the organization. The terrorist organization began to fortify these areas by bringing reinforcements from the east of the Euphrates River to the Aleppo region. In response to preparations for establishing a terrorist corridor between Tel Rifat and Manbij, which is also under the organization's occupation, the Syrian National Army launched the Operation Dawn of Freedom against the organization. In the operation, Tel Rifat, occupied by terrorists, was besieged, and the plan was thwarted. THE OCCUPATION OF TEL RIFAT BY PKK/YPGYPG/PKK terrorists captured Tel Rifat and some surrounding settlements in February 2016 with the air support of Russia. The terrorist organization displaced approximately 250,000 civilians from Tel Rifat and its surroundings, and this population sought refuge in areas close to the Turkish border. From here, YPG/PKK was attacking Turkish security forces and opposition fighters' positions in the areas of the Euphrates Shield Operation and Olive Branch Operation. The terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which occupied the district of Tel Rifat, tried to hold the district by cooperating with the Bashar al-Assad regime and its supporters. After the regime-opposed armed groups entered the center of Aleppo on November 29, regime forces withdrew their elements from Tel Rifat.
