Units composed of opposition forces that overthrew the 61-year Baath regime in Syria continue their search and rescue operations around the Tishrin Dam in Manbij, which they liberated from the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, while also advancing step by step in the east of Raqqa. The activities of the Syrian National Army (SMO) continue uninterrupted to completely eliminate the dangers in the tunnels opened in residential areas and rural areas during the occupation of Manbij by the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG. On the other hand, Raqqa, which was occupied by PKK/YPG terrorists at the end of 2017 with the support of the US and has a dense Arab population, has also started to be cleared of terrorists. Units affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government, established after the overthrow of the Assad regime, have also cleared the village of Ganim al-Ali in the east of Raqqa from PKK/YPG terrorists. SMO FORCES ARE CLEANING THE AREAWhile searching the tunnels opened in the lands near the Tishrin Dam, SMO forces are also neutralizing booby traps that could harm civilians. Due to the terrorists occasionally targeting the area with rockets and artillery from the east of the Euphrates River, civilians are forced to evacuate some villages. BAATH REGIME OVERTHROWNOn November 27, clashes intensified between regime-opposing armed groups and Bashar al-Assad's forces in Syria. The groups gained superiority in the largest cities such as Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, and Homs between November 30 and December 7. As the groups began to enter the capital Damascus on December 7, with the support of the masses, the regime completely lost control in Damascus and many other regions. As the 61-year rule of the Baath Party came to an end, regime leader Assad fled to Russia, which decided to provide asylum for him and his family on December 8. Meanwhile, the Syrian National Army had also liberated the district center of Tel Rifaat from the PKK/YPG terrorist organization on the first day of the Operation Dawn of Freedom launched in December. With the liberation of the Manbij district in the operation, the region, which had turned into the largest terrorist nest west of the Euphrates River, was cleared of PKK/YPG. After the overthrow of the Baath regime, a temporary administration was established in Syria, and Mohammed al-Bashir was appointed as the prime minister of the temporary administration until March 2025. Turkey's embassy in Damascus resumed operations on December 14. After the overthrow of the regime, many Western countries sent delegations to Damascus.
