The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and sports clubs published a memorial message for the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023.
In the message published on the Federation's website, it was stated, "On the 3rd anniversary of the earthquake disaster that struck our country on February 6, 2023, with its epicenter in Kahramanmaraş, leaving devastating traces in 11 of our provinces, we once again pray for the souls of our citizens who lost their lives; we extend our condolences to their grieving families, loved ones, and our esteemed nation."
In the statement shared by Beşiktaş Club, it was said, "We have not forgotten. We will not forget. We commemorate our loved ones who we lost in the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes with mercy. We hope that such indescribable pains will never be experienced again."
The message published by Fenerbahçe Club included the following statements:
"We remember our citizens who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquake disaster with mercy and longing; we wish patience and condolences to their loved ones and to our entire country. We have not forgotten, we will not forget."
In the memorial message of Galatasaray Club, it was stated, "It has been exactly three years since the night our hearts burned… On the anniversary of the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, we pray for the souls of those who lost their lives and wish infinite patience to their loved ones. As the Galatasaray community, we will continue to stand by you."
In the statement published by Trabzonspor Club, the following was noted:
"On the anniversary of the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, which plunged our country into deep mourning, we remember our citizens who lost their lives with mercy; we wish patience to their families and loved ones. We once again extend our best wishes to all citizens affected by the earthquake and hope that similar pains will never be experienced again." Many sports clubs also published memorial messages on their social media accounts for those who lost their lives in the earthquakes.
