The traffic fines for 2025 have been announced.

In the "General Communiqué on the Tax Procedure Law" published in the Official Gazette, the amounts of traffic fines to be applied from today have been updated following the determination of the revaluation rate as 43.93% by the Revenue Administration.

Considering the price changes experienced over the course of a year, the Revaluation Rate determined; is used for the increase of financial obligations such as taxes, fees, and fines. Following the determination of this rate as 43.93% by the Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the amounts of traffic fines that will be applied from today have also been updated.

138,172 LIRA FINE FOR UNAUTHORIZED "FLASHER" USE

Those who install and use devices that emit light or sound warning signals, referred to as "flashers," in vehicles without authorization will be fined 138,172 lira for the first offense, and 276,345 lira for two or more violations within a year.

Those who unnecessarily use the emergency lane and violate the rules will face a fine of 9,267 lira. Those who park in areas reserved for disabled vehicles will be fined 1,986 lira. Those who do not comply with parking and stopping bans, turning and overtaking rules, right of way at intersections, loading and unloading rules, as well as those who do not wear seat belts, helmets, and protective glasses, pedestrians who do not comply with traffic rules, those who throw or spill something from vehicles, those who play loud music in vehicles, and those who do not comply with lane keeping and changing rules will be fined 993 lira.

LOAD LIMIT VIOLATION

A fine of 777 lira will be imposed on those who carry more passengers than the transport limit. A fine of 2,072 lira will be applied to those who load in a manner that may be dangerous in terms of road structure, capacity, and traffic safety. Various fines ranging from 8,463 lira to 51,026 lira will be imposed on operators of vehicles exceeding load limits and those sending the respective load. In cases of loading oversized cargo or allowing passengers to board on top of the load, the operator will be fined 8,463 lira, and the sender will be fined 16,975 lira. Those who transport dangerous or harmful substances, or items that require special permission due to their weight and size without obtaining permission, will face a fine of 4,198 lira.

2,167 LIRA FINE FOR RED LIGHT VIOLATION

Those who violate red lights and lanes, use mobile phones while driving, do not carry their driver's license, do not have their vehicle inspected, and drivers who do not comply with the rules for riding motorbikes, motorcycles, bicycles, and electric scooters will be fined 2,167 lira. Those who drive in the opposite direction will be fined 9,267 lira.

Those who drive with an expired driver's license or a foreign driver's license in violation of the conditions will be fined 3,755 lira. If the driver does not have the vehicle registration document, they will be fined 843 lira. Those who attach plates that do not comply with the specifications or dimensions, or make changes to the registration plate that allow it to be read differently or not at all, will be fined 3,809 lira. Those who use or attach a license plate registered to another vehicle will be fined 46,302 lira.

SPEED LIMIT VIOLATIONS

Fines for exceeding speed limits will be as follows: 2,167 lira for exceeding by 10% to 30%, 4,512 lira for exceeding by 30% to 50%, and 9,267 lira for exceeding by more than 50%. For those who commit speed violations exceeding 50% five times within the same year, their driver's license will be revoked for one year.

Those who do not use a tachograph and taximeter, drive a vehicle that has been reported as unsafe during inspection, do not slow down when approaching pedestrian or school crossings and intersections, and do not give priority to pedestrians about to cross will be fined 4,512 lira. Those who do not comply with the winter tire rule will pay a fine of 5,856 lira.

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE

Those who drive without a driver's license, those whose licenses have been revoked, and those who drive despite having their driver's license confiscated will be fined 18,677 lira. Those who drive a vehicle outside the class of their own license will be fined 9,267 lira.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

Drivers with a blood alcohol level of 0.50 promille in private cars and 0.20 promille in other vehicles will be fined 9,267 lira for the first offense, 11,622 lira for the second offense, and 18,677 lira for the third and subsequent offenses. For the first violation, the driver's license will be revoked for 6 months, for the second violation for 2 years, and for three or more violations for 5 years each. Those found to have a blood alcohol level above one promille or those who cause a traffic accident while over the legal limit will also be prosecuted under Article 179 of the Turkish Penal Code.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

Those who drive under the influence of drugs or stimulants will be fined 47,842 lira. Their driver's licenses will be temporarily revoked for 5 years. Those who refuse to allow technical devices to be used to determine whether drugs or stimulants were used, or the amount of alcohol in the blood, in cases of traffic accidents involving injuries or fatalities, or material damage with police intervention will be fined 26,557 lira.
