TRAILER DETACHED FROM TRUCK, CAUSING CHAIN REACTION ACCIDENT
The accident occurred around 01:30 at night in the İnciröbekleri area of Muratlı's Yeşilsırt neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the trailer of a truck traveling from Tekirdağ center Süleymanpaşa towards Muratlı detached for an undetermined reason. The trailer, scattered onto the road, completely blocked vehicle traffic and caused a chain reaction accident involving three vehicles that came one after another.
3 PEOPLE TRAGICALLY LOST THEIR LIVES
The greatest damage in the accident was sustained by the light commercial vehicle with license plate 59 AOJ 243, driven by Ferit Baldız. The out-of-control vehicle crashed into barriers and came to a stop, while the driver Ferit Baldız (50), along with Gizem Baldız (17) and Buse Naz Çiçek (16) who were in the vehicle, were trapped inside. Following the report, numerous firefighting, medical, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters rescued the injured trapped inside the vehicle after lengthy efforts. Despite all interventions by medical teams at the scene, it was determined that Ferit Baldız, Gizem Baldız, and Buse Naz had lost their lives.
TRANSPORTATION STOPPED
Due to the horrific accident, transportation from Süleymanpaşa towards Muratlı was completely halted for a while, while security measures were taken in the area. Muratlı Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuzhan Tekin and Gendarmerie Provincial Crime Scene Investigation teams also arrived at the accident site and conducted examinations. The bodies of the 3 deceased individuals were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures.
A comprehensive investigation into the accident has been launched.
