The U.S. press has made a striking claim regarding the Trump administration. According to this claim, the State Department is set to eliminate nearly all of its operations in Africa. Additionally, the U.S. embassies and consulates across the continent will also be closed. The draft in question is expected to be signed by Trump within the next week.
According to the New York Times (NYT), based in America, U.S. President Donald Trump and his team are working on a draft regulation that foresees 'fundamental changes' regarding the State Department's international operations.

The newspaper's report claims that the draft regulation prepared by the Trump administration includes information that nearly all of the State Department's operations in Africa will be eliminated, and that the U.S. embassies and consulates across the African continent will also be closed.

Additionally, it was suggested in the draft that the work of offices dealing with climate change and refugee issues, as well as concerns about democracy and human rights, within the State Department is planned to be terminated.
