Altay administration resigned due to no presidential candidate emerging in the last three general assemblies and financial problems, and applied to the court requesting the appointment of a trustee for the club.
A critical development occurred at Altay, one of Izmir's 112-year-old established clubs.
TRUSTEE APPLICATION FROM ALTAY
The administration under President Sinan Kanlı at the black-and-white club resigned from its duties and applied to the relevant court at the Izmir Courthouse with a request for a trustee to be appointed to the club. In the petition submitted to the court by the administration, the lack of presidential candidates in the last three ordinary general assemblies and the club's financial difficulties were cited as reasons.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE PROCESS?
If the court appoints a trustee, the appointed trustee is expected to make a decision for an elective general assembly. However, it was stated that if no presidential candidate emerges in this process either, the possibility of Altay being liquidated could come to the agenda.
