Residents of a neighborhood in Beyoğlu reported a bad smell coming from a building to the police. Police teams, who entered the house with the help of firefighters, found Selim Bağda (57) motionless on the armchair in the living room. Health teams determined that Bağda had lost his life during their checks. While no signs of beatings or sharp object injuries were found on Bağda's body, an investigation was launched into the death, which is considered suspicious.

The incident occurred on Monday, August 3, at around 21:15 in the Hacıahmet neighborhood. According to the information obtained, residents noticed a strong bad smell coming from a house and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police teams were dispatched to the address. During their interviews, the teams learned from the apartment residents that a bad smell had been coming from the house for a long time.

Despite police teams knocking on the door multiple times, they received no answer from inside, so firefighters were called to the scene. With the help of the firefighters, the door was opened and the apartment was entered. The teams entering inside found Selim Bağda motionless on the armchair in the living room.

Health teams arriving at the address upon the report determined during their checks that Selim Bağda had lost his life. After the crime scene investigation teams completed their work at the house, Bağda's body was removed to the Morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death.
