HAD APPEALED TO AKIN GÜRLEK

Sebahattin Şirin had made a notable post the previous day, appealing to Justice Minister Akın Gürlek. Şirin called on Gürlek to remain impartial, saying, ''Lately, we hear rumors that a group within our state will make Fenerbahçe champions this season, and your name is also being mentioned among this group.''

Sebahattin Şirin's open appeal post to Minister Gürlek is as follows:

''Dear Akın Gürlek, following your decision to re-examine the Uğur Mumcu murder case, I wrote a short piece a few days ago expressing my views. Re-examining the unsolved murders and events that can be considered milestones deeply shaking our country is very valuable, and as a citizen, I will support this struggle with all my heart and soul.

However, lately, we hear rumors that a group within our state will make Fenerbahçe champions this season, and your name is also being mentioned among this group. We do not believe this, and we never want to. We trust that in this great struggle you have undertaken to re-examine the unsolved murders and events starting with Uğur Mumcu, you will not allow your name to be used in such minor matters.''
