WORKERS HAD RAISED A FUSS

At Tofaş, one of the largest industrial establishments in Bursa, employees had initiated actions due to the deadlock in collective bargaining negotiations. According to the information obtained, negotiations had stalled after the employer's union MESS offered a 5% raise and a 11.50 lira increase in response to the 20% raise and 35 lira improvement demand requested by the Turkish Metal Union on behalf of the employees. After no agreement could be reached between the parties, the workers had carried out their first actions within the factory. The failure to reach an agreement in the collective bargaining negotiations conducted between the Turkish Metal Union and the employer's union MESS, covering the period of 2025-2027, brought about reactions in the factory.
