Notable developments occurred during yesterday's Party Assembly meeting of the CHP. It was learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, reacting to the resignation of 28 members, said, "Their concern is not unity, but establishing a separate party." While there was demand for the congress to be held as soon as possible during the meeting, it was reported that when Gürsel Erol requested a statement regarding the candidacy, Kılıçdaroğlu responded, "I said I would bring the party to a safe harbor and leave, and I will clarify this if necessary."
Following the resignations in CHP, attention turned to the Party Assembly meeting. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, took place with the participation of 30 members due to the resignations.
During the meeting, the latest developments within the party were evaluated, while the convention process and disciplinary decisions were among the important agenda items.
"IMMEDIATE CONVENTION" DEMAND CAME TO THE AGENDA
According to the news in Sözcü newspaper, Party Assembly members Ali Öztunç, Gürsel Erol, Mehmet Tüm, Yaşar Seymen, and Oğuz Kaan Salıcı argued that the convention should be held without delay.
It was learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, responding to this demand, said, "That is our intention as well."
It was stated that Gürsel Erol, who took the floor at the meeting, asked Kılıçdaroğlu to make a clear statement regarding his candidacy. It was reported that Erol said, "Then announce that you will not be a candidate," while Kılıçdaroğlu replied, "I already said I would bring the party to a safe harbor and leave. If necessary, I will announce this as well."
CRITICISM OF DISCIPLINARY DECISIONS
It was learned that some members at the meeting criticized the referral of 9 names directly to discipline. Members reportedly expressed the opinion that the issue should be evaluated by an impartial commission and requested a review of the disciplinary process.

Resignations were also one of the important agenda items of the meeting. It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu, in his assessment of those who resigned, used the expression, "Their concern is not unity, but to establish a separate party."
COURT DECISION WILL BE WAITED FOR THE CONVENTION
Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı, stating that the resignation letters had reached them, said that this process also needs to be evaluated by the court.
While Sarı expressed that the headquarters could not take any action at this stage, he argued that it is not possible to convene the convention before the court decision becomes final.
Sarı stated that the convention process, which will start from the neighborhoods, will be initiated, and noted that the date of the convention will be clarified after the court decision becomes final.
Sarı said there is a common opinion within the party for holding the convention as soon as possible, and expressed that claims that CHP cannot participate in the election do not reflect the truth.
