A new phase has emerged in the talks between Güzel Enerji, a fuel distribution company operating under OYAK, and Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company, regarding a partnership. It has been reported that Saudi Aramco's 30 percent partnership in Güzel Enerji, which controls TotalEnergies, M Oil, Valvoline, and Türk Petrol, stands out, and that the parties aim to conclude the process by the end of the year.

A two-way process is progressing between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia regarding investments in both the electricity and fuel sectors. Saudi Arabia will invest in solar power plants (SPP) with a total capacity of 2,000 megawatts in Karaman and Sivas, with 1,000 megawatts each.

Electricity Generation Inc. (EÜAŞ) will purchase the electricity produced in these plants over 30 years in euro/cent terms. The investment will be exempt from all taxes, duties, financial obligations, fees, funds, and charges applied to imports, including customs duty, VAT, and Special Consumption Tax (SCT).

Türkiye will carry out all procedures regarding the lands where the facilities will be built and will lease the land in a ready state to the Saudi Arabian company that will make the said investment.

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is preparing the necessary conditions and infrastructure for this investment.

Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company, is continuing its negotiations with OYAK for investment in the petroleum and fuel sector.

Uğur Doğan, Chairman of the Board of OYAK Energy Companies, had previously stated in a statement to ANKA News Agency that they were conducting negotiations with Aramco regarding partnership, cooperation, and commercial matters.

Doğan had noted that a share transfer and partnership in Güzel Enerji, OYAK's fuel distribution company, could be on the agenda.

In their assessment, sources said that Saudi Aramco's 30 percent partnership in Güzel Enerji, which controls TotalEnergies, M Oil, Valvoline, and Türk Petrol, stands out, and the parties aim to conclude the process by the end of the year.

The sources stated, "Following this partnership, a significant change is expected in the fuel sector in the new period. TotalEnergies may go, and the Aramco brand may come to the signs. In other words, it will be the face of the brand. This is a notable change for the fuel sector."

In 2020, OYAK acquired TOTAL Oil Türkiye and M Oil fuel distribution companies operating under Demirören Holding, along with their affiliated autogas stations. The acquired fuel and autogas companies were gathered under the umbrella of Güzel Enerji Akaryakıt AŞ, an OYAK subsidiary.

The company owns fuel and LPG facilities with a total capacity of 550,000 cubic meters in Gebze, Aliağa, Tekirdağ Marmara Ereğlisi, Ankara, Yarımca, and Samsun. Güzel Enerji Akaryakıt AŞ has a lubricants factory in İzmir Çiğli.

With over 1,000 stations across Türkiye, Güzel Enerji ranks fourth among distribution companies in terms of diesel and gasoline sales and market share, according to the March 2026 report of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
