Turkey's economic growth figures for the second quarter of this year have been announced. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 2.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026.
When the activities that constitute GDP are examined; compared with the same quarter of the previous year, by chained volume index in the second quarter of 2026; the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector increased by 13.3%, information and communication activities by 8.6%, public administration, education, human health and social work activities by 4.0%, taxes less subsidies on products by 3.3%, other service activities by 3.2%, industry sector by 2.4%, financial and insurance activities by 2.1%, real estate activities by 2.1%, professional, administrative and support service activities by 2.0%, and trade, transportation, accommodation and food service activities by 0.5%. The construction sector decreased by 1.9%.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted GDP chained volume index increased by 1.1% compared with the previous quarter. Calendar adjusted GDP chained volume index increased by 2.3% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
GDP at current prices was 19 trillion 869 billion 747 million TL in the second quarter of 2026.
The production method Gross Domestic Product estimate increased by 36.0% at current prices compared with the same quarter of the previous year, reaching 19 trillion 869 billion 747 million TL in the second quarter of 2026. The second quarter value of GDP at current prices was realized as 438 billion 347 million US dollars.
Household final consumption expenditure increased by 3.5% in the second quarter of 2026.
