In the traffic accident that occurred last night in Şanlıurfa, journalist and television program host Ömer Yılan lost his life. The accident occurred yesterday evening at the city entrance of the Şanlıurfa-Diyarbakır highway.
According to the claim, the automobile with license plate 16 ZE 468, driven by Ömer Yılan, went out of control after the driver lost control of the steering wheel and overturned into a ditch.
Yılan, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital by teams that arrived at the scene.
Despite all the doctors' interventions, Ömer Yılan could not be saved and lost his life.

Yılan, who was married and the father of two children, had worked in journalism and television programming, and also served as the Head of the Press, Broadcasting, and Public Relations Department of the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality for a period.

After Yılan's passing, many politicians, mayors, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and colleagues published condolence messages on their social media accounts, offering their condolences to his family and relatives.
