The Turkish Women's National Football Team defeated Malta 3-0 in their first match of Group B in the 2027 World Cup European Qualifiers. The national team will face Northern Ireland away in their second match on Saturday, March 7.
The A National Women's Football Team hosted Malta in their first match of Group 2 in the B League of the 2027 World Cup European Qualifiers.
THE MATCH WAS REFEREED BY A SPANISH REFEREE
The match, which started at 17:00 at Pendik Stadium, was officiated by Eugenia Gil Soriano from the Spanish Football Federation. Soriano's assistants were Silvia Fernandez and Estefania Benito Benito, also from the same federation.
CLEAR VICTORY WITH 3 GOALS
Turkey, which started the match well, took the lead 1-0 in the 7th minute with an own goal by Farrugia. Continuing their effective play after the goal, the Crescent-Stars increased the score to 2-0 in the 29th minute with Ebru Topçu, and the first half ended with this score. In the second half of the match, Turkey remained the dominant side. The national team created opportunities to increase the lead with Kader, Ebru Topçu, and Selen, but could not convert them into goals. In the 88th minute, Arzu Karabulut scored the final goal, making the score 3-0. The A National Women's Football Team defeated Malta 3-0 at home.
