Journalist Fuat Uğur used the expression, "She should collect money by doing a twerk dance on stage to pay her employees' salaries," regarding Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, who is alleged to have failed to make personnel payments. The Üsküdar Municipality stated that a criminal complaint would be filed against Uğur, while Mayor Dedetaş commented, "We are facing an understanding that has turned into a pathetic mentality."
Journalist Fuat Uğur's post about Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş sparked a major controversy.
Uğur stated on his X account, "Sinem Dedetaş, who brought a twerk dance instructor from Africa so that the women of Üsküdar could learn, should perform twerk on stage to collect money to pay the salaries of Üsküdar Municipality employees."
HARSH REACTION FROM SİNEM DEDETAŞ
While Uğur's message caused an uproar in the public, Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş did not delay in responding to the journalist. Dedetaş announced that they would file a criminal complaint against journalist Fuat Uğur, stating, "We are faced with an understanding that has turned into a pathetic mentality that can speak about our honor when it finds nothing to criticize."
CHP MADE SEVERAL STATEMENTS
CHP Deputy Chair Aylin Nazlıaka also said, "We return your immoral accusations against our Mayor Sinem Dedetaş to you exactly as they are. I spoke with our mayor; she will hold you accountable in court. Your real reckoning will be settled at the ballot box in the next elections."
"SYSTEMATIC HATRED MUST END"
CHP Women's Branch Presidency also made the following statement; "The systematic hatred directed towards our women politicians and successful women mayors elected by the free will of the people must come to an end as soon as possible."
