The United Arab Emirates reported that Iran has denied accusations that the Abu Dhabi administration "actively participated" in the war initiated by the US and Israel's attack on Iran. In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was also noted that approximately 3,000 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicle attacks originating from Iran since February 28, 2026, have been intercepted by air defense systems.
A written statement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding the speech delivered by UAE Minister of State Khalifa bin Shahin Al-Marar at the summit of foreign ministers of BRICS countries in New Delhi, the capital of India.
REJECTED IRAN'S ACCUSATIONS OF 'ACTIVE ROLE IN THE WAR'
According to the statement, Minister Al-Marar said in his speech at the meeting that Iran's attacks on the UAE and some countries in the region were a clear violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the principles of good neighborliness.
Al-Marar stated that they categorically reject all claims and threats that the UAE played an 'active role' in the war that started with the attacks of the US and Israel on Iran, and emphasized that his country has the necessary diplomatic, legal, and military rights to protect its sovereignty rights against any kind of threat.
“APPROXIMATELY 3,000 MISSILES FROM IRAN WERE INTERCEPTED”
Stating that Iran has blocked maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, Al-Marar said that targeting commercial ships and using the strait as an element of economic pressure poses a threat to regional stability and global energy security.
Minister Al-Marar stated that approximately 3,000 ballistic missile, cruise missile, and unmanned aerial vehicle attacks originating from Iran since February 28, 2026, have been intercepted by air defense systems.
Al-Marar, who assessed that these attacks targeted civilian infrastructure in the UAE, noted that Iran continues its attacks despite international and regional condemnations.
Holding Iran responsible for all consequences of these attacks, Al-Marar stated that for regional stability, respect for the sovereignty of states, strengthening dialogue, and adherence to international law are necessary.
The Tehran administration had accused the UAE of 'allowing its territory to be used in attacks against Iran and playing an active role' in the war that started with the attacks of the US and Israel.
