Commander of the Uganda Defense Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba has made headlines again with a new post targeting Turkey. In a statement on social media platform X, Kainerugaba said, "I have stopped talking about Turkey. I conquered them after a few tweets. They should never talk about Uganda again!"

The Ugandan commander's words, who had previously made controversial posts about Turkey, quickly sparked widespread reaction on social media.

HE HAD ALSO MADE CONTROVERSIAL POSTS PREVIOUSLY

Muhoozi Kainerugaba had previously claimed he wanted to marry the most beautiful woman in Turkey and said, "I have already married 5 Turkish women." The Ugandan commander also asserted that he demanded 1 billion dollars from Turkey and suggested he could take diplomatic steps if his demands were not met.

Kainerugaba had also claimed that war could break out if Fred Kajubi Lumbuye, an opposition figure to the Ugandan government, was not handed over. He later deleted some of these controversial posts.

"LUMBUYE" TENSION HAD BEEN ON THE AGENDA

Fred Kajubi Lumbuye, frequently mentioned in the Ugandan commander's statements, is known for his opposition to the Ugandan government. Lumbuye, who sought refuge in Turkey in 2013, is noted for his harsh criticisms of the Ugandan government. Kainerugaba had previously claimed that if Turkey did not hand over Lumbuye, they could take tough steps.

DIPLOMATIC TENSION COMMENT

Kainerugaba's unusual statements on social media have previously made headlines in the international press. Experts assess that such remarks by the head of the Ugandan military towards another country like Turkey are diplomatically noteworthy.
