It has been claimed that the U.S. administration has informed Israel that it should not carry out new attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure. It was suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump viewed attacks on Iran's energy and oil infrastructure as a "doomsday scenario," but considered it an option to be used if Iran were to attack oil facilities in Gulf countries.

It was claimed that the U.S. administration requested Israel, which coordinated attacks against Iran, not to carry out any further attacks on the country's energy infrastructure and oil storage facilities.

In a report by the Axios news platform, the attacks carried out by the U.S. and Israel on Iran since February 28 were discussed, focusing on the energy infrastructure.

"DO NOT TARGET INFRASTRUCTURE AREAS"

An Israeli official speaking to the news platform stated that the U.S. administration conveyed a message to Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir regarding not targeting the energy infrastructure and oil storage facilities in Iran again.

Another Israeli official said, "The U.S. asked us to inform them before any future attacks on oil facilities in Iran."

"APOCALYPSE SCENARIO"

A source knowledgeable about the matter said that in the U.S. administration's decision, the fact that such attacks would "harm the Iranian people," the goal of cooperating with Iran's oil sector after the end of conflicts, and the possibility of retaliation against similar targets in Gulf countries were influential.

The unnamed source stated that U.S. President Donald Trump considered attacks on Iran's energy and oil infrastructure as an "apocalypse scenario," but viewed it as an option if Iran attacked oil facilities in Gulf countries.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Israel targeted refineries and oil storage facilities in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and in response, Iran announced that it had attacked the Haifa Refinery.

In a report on March 8, Axios claimed that the U.S. administration was disturbed by the scope of the airstrikes carried out by Israel on oil depots in Iran.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf stated that if the U.S. and Israel "initiated an attack on the infrastructure" in the country, they would also target "infrastructures in the region."

U.S.-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN

Israel and the U.S. launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations continued between the Tehran and Washington administrations.

In response, Iran attacked targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where U.S. bases are located, in addition to Israel.

In the U.S.-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed.

According to Iranian officials, 1,332 people lost their lives in the U.S.-Israel attacks.
