The famous oriental dancer Tanyeli, who passed away due to pancreatic cancer in Istanbul, was laid to rest in Bodrum in accordance with his last wishes. The mosque imam, Yüksel Kılınçarslan, who led the funeral prayer, stated, "Tanyeli was not only successful on stage but also a kind-hearted, beautiful person. He loved Bodrum and Tepecik Mosque very much. He would regularly come to our mosque and join our congregation."

HIS LAST WISH WAS FULFILLED
Tanyeli, who passed away three days ago in Istanbul, was buried yesterday in Ortakent Cemetery after the afternoon prayer held at Kerem Aydınlar Mosque in Ortakent, Bodrum, according to his last wish. The funeral was attended by the artist's wife İlker Sünnili, son Teoman Kral, and members of the art community including Işın Karaca, Ekin, Murat Övüç, and Seray Sever, as well as his relatives in Bodrum.
EMOTIONAL STATEMENT FROM THE IMAM
The funeral prayer for Tanyeli was led by Yüksel Kılınçarslan, the imam of Tepecik Mosque, where Tanyeli frequently went for worship in Bodrum. In his speech, Kılınçarslan emphasized the artist's religious side and stated:
"Everyone knows our artist, but I want to share a different aspect of him with you. Tanyeli was not only successful on stage but also a kind-hearted, beautiful person. He loved Bodrum and Tepecik Mosque very much. He would regularly come to our mosque and join our congregation. As Mevlana said, death is a wedding night. Hopefully, Tanyeli is experiencing his wedding night. May his place be paradise."
EMOTIONAL STATEMENT FROM ARTISTS
Işın Karaca, speaking at the funeral ceremony, said, "He was the most life-loving person I have ever known. In the face of this struggle, one cannot find many words."
Actress Seray Sever stated, "May the whole of Turkey's condolences be with us; he was a very valuable and special person. He used to call me 'my paradise-eyed one.' He was also the one who introduced me to my husband. He had a touch with everyone. Tanyeli was there for everyone in their bad times."
