MHP lawmakers İsmail Özdemir and Halil Öztürk have submitted a bill proposing an exemption from Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) for citizens who scrap vehicles aged 25 years and older. If the proposal is enacted, 12 models from 6 different brands will be included in the incentive program.
According to the proposal that came to the Parliament's agenda at the end of 2024, it is planned to apply an exemption from Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) only for individuals who purchase domestically produced zero vehicles in order to benefit from the scrap vehicle incentive.
LAW PROPOSAL FROM MHP DEPUTIES
While no decision has yet been made in the Parliament regarding the law proposal presented by MHP Kayseri Deputy İsmail Özdemir and Kırıkkale Deputy Halil Öztürk, millions of people are eagerly awaiting developments on the subject.
12 MODELS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE INCENTIVE
If the proposal regarding the scrap vehicle incentive becomes law, 12 models from 6 different brands will be included in the incentive scope. Among these models will be Togg T10X, Toyota CH-R, Hyundai Bayon, Hyundai i20, Hyundai i10, Ford Tourneo Custom, Ford E-Transit, Ford Transit, Fiat Fiorino, Fiat Egea Cross, Fiat Egea, and the VW Transporter, which has just started production in Turkey.
UNKNOWN IMPACT ON PRICES
The scope and conditions of the incentive have not yet been fully clarified, so there is no definitive information regarding its impact on prices.
