With the phone password of Başak Schlosser, found dead in a hotel room in Fatih, being cracked, footage was obtained showing she recorded a suicide attempt before the incident; the investigation continues in light of new findings.

24-year-old Basak Schlosser, who came to Istanbul from Germany for a vacation, was found dead hanging by a sheet in her hotel room in Fatih. New striking details have emerged in the investigation into the incident.

5 SUSPECTS WERE RELEASED

After the death of Basak Schlosser, whose mother is German and father is Turkish, five suspects who were taken into custody were released following their statements. Meanwhile, it was learned that the young woman had gone to a grocery store asking for help, claiming she was being followed, and the absence of approximately 9 hours of footage from the hotel's security cameras raised the possibility that the incident could be a murder.

SHE STAYED AT THE HOTEL WITH A MALE FRIEND

According to a report in Sabah; after checking into the hotel, Schlosser spent time outside and returned to the hotel with a male friend. It was stated that the pair stayed in the room for a while, then the male friend left the hotel, and the young woman was found hanging in her room the next day.

MISSING FOOTAGE INCREASED SUSPICIONS

It was learned that the preliminary autopsy report from the Forensic Medicine Institute found no signs of assault or force on Schlosser's body. However, the investigation was expanded due to the inability to locate approximately 9 hours of footage from the hotel's security cameras. It was also stated that the young woman had taken refuge in a grocery store asking for help before her death, and these moments were captured on security cameras.

MOBILE PHONE PASSWORD UNLOCKED

After the incident, teams from the Fatih District Police Department Public Order Bureau unlocked the young woman's mobile phone password with the help of her family. The examination revealed that Schlosser had recorded videos of a suicide attempt shortly before the incident. Additionally, it was learned that the phone contained other video recordings indicating she intended to commit suicide.

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

While the investigation into the young woman's death continues from multiple angles, the new findings obtained are considered to be of a nature that could change the course of the incident.
