The post by U.S. President Donald Trump on his social media account, which targeted former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama with "racist" content, has been deleted.

THE RACIST VIDEO WAS REMOVED AFTER BACKLASH

According to Axios, a source familiar with the developments and working at the White House stated that he received "numerous" calls from Republican colleagues to have the post removed.

According to various reports in U.S. media, one of the White House officials claimed that the post in question was shared by a staff member by mistake.

WHAT HAPPENED?

At the end of Trump's video post, which included claims that the 2020 election was stolen through voting machines, the faces of the Obamas were shown superimposed on monkey bodies, and the post received significant backlash from various groups.

In a post made by the media office of California Governor Gavin Newsom on the U.S.-based social media platform X, it stated, "The President's (Trump) disgusting behavior. Every Republican should condemn this right now."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a statement to U.S. media regarding the issue, said, "This was taken from an internet humor video that depicts President Trump as the King of the Forest and Democrats as characters from The Lion King," while describing the reactions to the post as "fake outrage."

Republican Senator Tim Scott criticized the video, calling it "the most racist thing I've seen from the White House," and urged Trump to delete the post.

Ben Rhodes, who served as Deputy National Security Advisor to Obama, also reacted to Trump's post on his X account.
