A referendum was held for the village of Eskihamidiye, which is affiliated with Bartın center, to join the Kozcağız Town Municipality and gain neighborhood status. In the previous years, two referendums were held in which the village voted "no," but in the third referendum, the vote was "yes."

In the village of Eskihamidiye, located within the boundaries of the central district of Bartın, a referendum was held for the 3rd time with 661 registered voters.



'YES' DECISION WAS MADE



In the referendum held to change the village status and become a neighborhood affiliated with Kozcağız, out of 466 voters, 276 voted 'yes' while 190 voted 'no'.



A SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN WAS ORGANIZED



Before the last referendum, where 'no' was the outcome in the previous two referendums, a signature campaign was organized. In the referendum, which was conducted after collecting 400 signatures, for the first time, the 'yes' votes exceeded.



FIRST, A MUNICIPAL COUNCIL DECISION WILL BE TAKEN



In order to benefit from services such as natural gas, zoning plans, and infrastructure, a municipal council decision will be taken first for the village that wants to be connected to Kozcağız Municipality. Then, with the positive opinion of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the approval of the governorship, the status of Eskihamidiye, which will be connected to Kozcağız Municipality, will also change to a neighborhood.
