In the investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, along with his wife Seden Bozbey and daughter Side Bozbey Güner, were detained as part of an investigation involving 55 individuals for the crimes of "establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes, bribery, laundering assets derived from crime, and causing urban pollution."
Mustafa Bozbey's wife Seden Bozbey IRREGULAR FLOOR AREA SALES DETECTED In a statement from the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that during the investigation, it was determined that the then mayors of Nilüfer, Mustafa Bozbey and Turgay Erdem, along with some municipal employees, provided financial benefits to themselves and project owners by making irregular floor area increases in construction projects in exchange for bribes.

"Upon the instruction of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out in a total of 5 provinces centered in Bursa by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch of the Bursa Provincial Police Department on March 31, 2026, targeting 59 suspects, including Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who is in a position as the leader of a criminal organization, and former Nilüfer Municipality Mayor Turgay Erdem (who is detained). It was reported that 55 suspects were captured and detained, searches and seizures were conducted at 51 residences, 23 companies/business places, and 1 foundation address belonging to the suspects, and that efforts to capture 4 fugitives are ongoing. It was also stated that the investigation is being conducted meticulously by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and information will be provided to the public regarding the progress and outcome of the investigation."

WHO IS MUSTAFA BOZBEY'S WIFE SEDEN BOZBEY? Sociologist Seden Bozbey was born in 1979 in Izmir. She completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Bornova, Izmir. She completed her undergraduate education in the Sociology department at Süleyman Demirel University. After working as a contracted teacher in high schools in Izmir, she settled in Bursa, where she started working as a sociologist at Nilüfer Municipality. Seden Bozbey, who also took on the role of Director of Social Support Services in the municipality, married Mustafa Bozbey in 2014. With the aim of continuing her work in social support and assistance at the foundation, she was appointed as the director of NİLVAK at the request of her husband and foundation board chairman Mustafa Bozbey. She carries out her duties with the goal of advancing the foundation in accordance with the principles and reforms of Atatürk and the values of the foundation.
